Hence, he is the benchmark for most athletes, looking to succeed. Notably, from the 2008 Beijing Olympics to the 2016 Rio Olympics, Bolt won every single major gold medal that was there to win, apart from the 2011 World Championships.
Bolt had a disqualification during the 2011 Daegu World Championships that saw him losing ground. Hence, it became a significant moment for him as he missed out on consecutive gold medals at the World Championships.

A small error that silenced the stadium
The first of his six individual Olympic gold medals came at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. At the end of the 2016 Rio Olympics, Bolt won five more in both the 100m and 200-meters, respectively. Thus, it was a standout moment. However, his World Championships in 2009 saw him creating a world record in the 100-meters. After that, the unthinkable happened.
He got disqualified from the 100-meters World Championships at the 2011 Daegu Championships. His homeland rival, Yohan Blake, won the race.
