Ottawa Senators Shane Pinto Banned for 41-Games After Violating NHL Gambling Rules

Ottawa Senators forward Shane Pinto received a ban of 41 games after indulging in gambling activities. The 22-year-old player became the first modern-day hockey player to get banned. Shane has accepted his mistake and has issued a public apology as well. Before Pinto, three players received a suspension for gambling in the 1940s.
Billy Taylor, Don Gallinger, and Babe Pratt are the three previous players. The team management is ready to welcome back Pinto after the suspension is over. For the time being, he will be out for the next 41-games.

“We know he is remorseful for his mistakes. The Ottawa Senators fully support the NHL’s rules on gambling. While saddened to learn of this issue, the entire organization remains committed to Shane and will work together to do what is necessary to help provide the support to allow him to address his issues and become a strong contributor to our community.”
It will be interesting to see how Ottawa line up for their remaining matches. Losing a forward of this quality is always a massive loss. However, the team will like to focus on the season ahead and continue winning. This will be an opportunity for the other forwards to showcase their skills.
