Roger Federer made his much-anticipated return from his knee surgeries in early March 2021. However, his return was cut short as he was ousted in the quarterfinals of ATP Doha. Having taken another break from the Tour following that, Federer recently made the announcement of playing the clay-court event, ATP Geneva Open, in his home country, Switzerland. The event will be held from May 17 to May 22.
After announcing his intention of playing during the current clay-court season, Federer singled out two clay tournaments for his clay season. One was the French Open and the other one was the Madrid Open. But Federer changed his calendar since the French Open was postponed and hence decided to play in Geneva for the first time.
Given Federer’s stature, there are broadcasters who will broadcast the tournament across the world.
