The match was not going the way of Juan Martin Del Potro who was down 2 sets to 1. Many people thought the match was over but Del Potro came roaring back to take the 4th set 7-6. He then kept this momentum to win the final set 6-2 and his first grand slam.

After his dramatic win, everyone expected Del Potro to win some more titles but sadly it did not happen. Del Potro went on to have an injury-plagued career that led to him missing many years on the ATP tour. When he did recover, he reached the final of the 2018 US Open and subsequently got injured again.
He is currently recovering from a surgery he underwent on his right knee last June. Let’s hope he can recover well during the suspension of the ATP tour. Hopefully, he can come back and add one more grand slam before he hangs up his racquet.
