Choosing Between Ice Cube’s $5 Million Offer and WNBA, Caitlin Clark Gets a ‘Solution’ from Kelsey Plum

$5 million is a huge number. Especially when you can earn the lucrative figure in just 10 weeks. However, while Caitlin Clark has shown no signs of interest in playing for Ice Cube’s Big 3 league any time soon, Kelsey Plum has a solution to reach a compromise. The biggest issue in joining the professional league along with the Big 3 is time. But looks like the 2x WNBA champion does not want Caitlin Clark to give a cold shoulder to the opportunity.
While discussing the topic with ESPN analysts on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, Plum had some useful ideas for Clark. “It’s an individual basis but I know she’s not the only one that’s gotten offers. That’s a lot of money for only 10 games, I think. It’ll be interesting to see because it’s an Olympic Year. I don’t suspect you’ll have maybe a high level of people that go. But in other years, shoot guys!”

Certainly, the Aces star is all about Clark choosing the WNBA along with the Big 3. Many have been thinking that it could get tiresome for the 22-year-old guard, especially in her first year. However, she will still be practicing in between the WNBA matchups and the Big-3 games can act as a workout for her. The WNBA schedule revolved around games on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays while Big-3 is on Saturdays.
Nevertheless, it looks like Kelsey Plum has found a way for Clark. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist also brought up the changes that the Big 3 will have to make if they want Clark and any other WNBA player on their team.

Since there have been some questions in the air about the WNBA and the Big 3 having a couple of games on an overlapping schedule, everyone’s trying to find a middle ground. Ice Cube has spoken on the conflict that if Caitlin Clark agrees to his offer, he is more than happy to make some scheduling changes.
In the same light, Kelsey Plum too has a word of advice. She mentioned that the Big 3 offer will continue to strengthen and it would be nice if they could coordinate it with the WNBA. But her focus was on traveling as well since Clark will be required to move around quite a lot and also need rest.

In the end, Kelsey Plum was just happy about Ice Cube taking charge and bringing something new to the table. No. 22 of Iowa will have to play on a 3×3 format with men’s basketball players if she chooses to go for the Big-3 league. Although that will not be the biggest reason for her to not give these waters a test, she has not opened up on the decision.

Clearly, she is more focused on cruising through the Final Four, which is due today against Paige Bueckers’ UConn. Do you think she will enter the Big-3 tournament as well?
