It won’t be an exaggeration to say the Dallas Wings’ season is already over. On the other side, the Los Angeles Sparks are hanging on for dear life just behind the 8th-place Storm. Now, two teams on opposite ends of the fight collide again, less than a week since their last meeting. While the Sparks are 2-0 in the matchup so far, we’ll have to see if Wings would want to avenge their previous defeats. But with major injuries piling up and new crucial names added to the list, a turnaround seems unlikely.

Dallas Wings vs. Los Angeles Sparks Prediction: Injury-Ridden Wings Seek Payback

When these two teams met last Friday at College Park Center, Paige Bueckers lit up the scoreboard with a game-high 29 points and even recorded a pair of historic milestones. Still, despite her efforts, the Sparks walked away with a 97–96 victory. Heading into this matchup, both teams are looking to bounce back from recent defeats. The Wings (9–26) are coming off a 106–87 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday, while the Sparks (16–18) dropped their own contest against the Washington Mystics, 95–86.

Court advantage doesn’t mean much here as Dallas is just 4–13 on the road this season, while Los Angeles hasn’t been much stronger at home with a 6–10 record. Statistically, the margins are slim. Los Angeles averages 9.0 made 3-pointers per game, nearly identical to the 9.2 that Dallas typically allows. Meanwhile, Dallas’ 42.1% field goal shooting this season sits 3.7 percentage points lower than what the Sparks have allowed opponents (45.8%).

One bright spot for Dallas could be Maddy Siegrist. After missing 18 games with a knee injury, she’s been on firer. Over the last six games, Siegrist has averaged 16.2 points per game on over 61% shooting from the field. She even set a new career high with 23 points against the Aces on Sunday. If Siegrist can keep that momentum and pair it with another strong performance from Bueckers, the Wings might just have a fighting chance.

Still, the numbers lean toward LA. The Sparks are 6–4 in their last 10, averaging 91.8 points, 33.0 rebounds, and 22.2 assists per game. By comparison, the Wings are just 2–8 in their last 10, averaging 83.0 points, 33.7 rebounds, and 21.4 assists.

Prediction: Sparks to win. The stats and momentum favor Los Angeles, all they need to keep the pace on defense. But yes, expect a competitive matchup.
