Moreover, 37-year-old Las Vegas Aces veteran Candace Parker recently gave Curry and the Warriors their flowers for their hunger for success, all while drawing parallels with the WNBA’s greatest dynasty.

Candace Parker is left ‘enthralled’ by the winning mentality

The Golden State Warriors have become even more synonymous with excellence in the modern era. Their transformation from underdogs to back-to-back Championship winners is evidence of their undying dedication to creating a legacy. If we look more into it, the Warriors’ spirit is highly personified by Stephen Curry, who is often placed among the all-time greatest shooters.

In a candid interview with Aces teammate Chelsea Gray, Candace Parker reflected on the impact of basketball dynasties. She also shared affection for the Houston Comets, a team that dominated the WNBA in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Comets’ incredible achievement of capturing four straight titles from 1997 to 2000 was and is unheard of since in the league.

Drawing parallels between the two dynasties, Parker said, “Being measured by other people doesn’t impact them, like what people say on a daily basis doesn’t impact them. They see the bigger picture, and I grew up watching the Houston Comets go back to back to back to back.”

Parker further admitted the Warriors’ influence on the game, particularly Curry’s capacity to motivate both fans and athletes. Moreover, his hunger for not being satisfied even after winning a few trophies got appreciation from the Aces’ forward.

“I’ve always been enthralled by the way that people can never be satisfied with winning. I think it takes that ability for [players] like Steph Curry to never be satisfied with where they’re at,”  Parker added.

While growing up, Parker found inspiration from the WNBA’s greatest dynasty. And most certainly, they do have a case for that title.

The WNBA’s greatest dynasty

During a pivotal period for the league from 1997 to 2000, the Houston Comets etched their name in the WNBA history by winning four consecutive championships. This astounding feat is still unmatched and may stand as a permanent testament to their brilliance. The focus wasn’t only on their victory, though; it was also on the captivating play they put on display on the court.

Basketball great Cynthia Cooper, whom Candace Parker praised in the interview, was a star player for the Comets and spent her prior 10-year professional career overseas before the WNBA was established. But after its inception, Cooper turned out to be the biggest puzzle for the Comets’ success. And when it mattered the most Cooper and other stars like Swoopes and Thompson gave a poetic kick-start to the franchise.
