Venus and Serena Williams are two of the greatest tennis players of all time, and Richard Williams, their father, and former coach is mainly responsible for their success. He put them through intense testing, early in their careers and focused on making them better. Richard gave girls the best he could, despite not having much experience with the game himself.
In terms of his daughters’ careers, Richard Williams did not take a casual approach. He had worked hard for his daughters, too. He watched their matches and assessed them even after they rose to the top of the circuit.

Tiger Woods’ father questions King Richards’ teaching skills
When asked about how Richard Williams handled their daughter’s tennis career. Tiger Woods’ father, Earl Woods, said, “I’ve never met the man, never talked to him. I’ve only observed him from afar. But I will say this: If I was those girls’ father, I would do things totally different. I would realize my shortcomings as a teacher and not want to have that impair the growth and development of my kids.”
Further, he added, “I would get a true professional to teach them, so that they could get the most of their potential. It’s a disservice to them not to give them the best opportunity for development in the game.”

Notably, the renowned golfer’s father also criticized Richard for taking advantage of his daughter’s success and claimed to be selfish. While Richard Williams’ guidance on his daughters may have offended Earl Woods, it is obvious that both Richard and Earl gave great sports person to the country.
Venus and Serena Williams receives the US Open Doubles Wild Card
After receiving a wild card in the doubles competition at the US Open, Serena and Venus Williams will play together for the first time in four years. Serena Williams, who is expected to retire after the US Open, hasn’t competed in a doubles match with her older sister Venus since they were defeated at the 2018 French Open. At the US Open, they haven’t participated in doubles since 2014.
