Last year, Ana had posted a clip on her X account, sharing a special moment with her husband and former footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger. “Since we always enjoy a good game on the holidays … Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating,” she wrote. They both were seen playing a game where they had to write each other’s favorite hobbies on a slate. It seems like Christmas has arrived early for the 2008 French Open winner this year.

Speaking of this year, Ana took to her Instagram and shared a post, dated December 6. Giving a surprise to her fans, she revealed her special Santa look! The 2007 French Open and the 2008 Australian Open runner-up wore a stunning red outfit. A cap completed the appearance she was seen smiling with a stylish pose. Standing near a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in her home, Ana wrote, “Already in the Christmas spirit 🎄❤️” Well, that’s quite clear from the picture itself, isn’t it?

After moving away from tennis eight years ago, Ana is seen spending a lot of quality time these days with her husband, and why not? Just last month, she celebrated her 37th birthday with Bastian. Not to mention she also received a special message from her old friend and compatriot Novak Djokovic!

She and husband Bastian were seen holding her birthday cake inside a restaurant. “Thank you so much for all your kind messages. I had an amazing birthday!”, she wrote in the post, dated November 7. It didn’t take long for her longtime friend Novak to wish her.

In the comments section, the 24-time Grand Slam winner wrote, “Happy birthday anchi 🤗.” For the unversed, Novak and Ivanovic have been good friends since their junior days, playing as kids, in Serbia before turning pros. Professionally, the duo have teamed up on several occasions in the past. They were partners in the mixed doubles category during the Hopman Cup in 2006, 2011, and 2013.

When Ana Ivanovic announced her retirement through a video message in December 2016, Novak got extremely emotional. He couldn’t resist from sharing his thoughts on the ex-WTA pro. “I was very emotional when I watched it, simply because I’ve known Ana since we were five years old,” he said, as reported by Tennis.com back in January 2017.

“We go back a long time. We’re friends, colleagues. You know, we’ve shared many moments together on the tour—in the junior circuit in Serbia, internationally. We’ve grown up together and our families have known each other. It was a really touching moment to see that happen, and I can imagine how hard it was for her to make that step and decision, and just decide to stop playing tennis,” he added while reflecting on their amazing bond.
