The 18-time Grand Slam champion addressed this issue and shared her perspective on the current discourse on social media. She replied to Elon Musk’s tweet explaining the reason behind the move.

She said that she was fine with or without a blue tick and didn’t care much about having a verified account. She wrote, “I didn’t ask for the blue check mark- it just showed up one day, so feel free to take it away. My peeps know it’s me.”
