Halep believes that her biggest opponent is herself. She revealed that she faced more problems in fighting her mental state rather than fighting her emotions.
“No, I’m not just fighting my opponent and the game of tennis only. I’m also fighting against my own moods, my mental state, sometimes, my emotions,” added the 2-time Grand Slam winner.
Halep definitely didn’t enjoy a great mood, especially with the coronavirus pandemic. However, she fought and fought hard to overcome her mental problems.

“I was taught to believe I don’t have any quarrels with anyone. What’s worse is that I have a quarrel with myself. Every time I’m out there on the court, there’s something about me that’s bothering me. All the pressure is on. All the focus is on me,” concluded the Romanian player.

It was definitely tough for Halep to perform well in this mental state. What would have been tougher was to open up about her mood swings. However, just like a champion on the court, Simona Halep is trying to battle it out. She will be returning back to the court at the Australian Open 2021.
