Iga Swiatek Enters the List With Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams After Winning Her Quarter-Final Match at Miami Open 2022

Soon to be no.1 in the World, Iga Swiatek has been in tremendous form in 2022. Earlier, the Polish player had a great Australian Open, as she reached the semi-final of that tournament. Then, she had an aberration at the Dubai Open, where she shockingly lost to Jelena Ostapenko in the round of 16.
Since then, she hasn’t looked back and continues to flourish on the tennis court. Currently, on a winning streak, which puts her on a list of great female players, that includes Serena Williams.

The 2020 French Open winner, Iga Swiatek, is on a hot streak at the moment with back-to-back wins since the Dubai Open. Currently, the tennis star is playing at the Miami Open, where she reached the semi-final. At the quarter-final of the Miami Open, she absolutely destroyed the 2-time Grand Slam champion, Petra Kvitova in straight sets.
As a result of that win, she has won now 15 consecutive matches in 2022. Now, she has entered the long list of players with the most wins in a row since 2010. 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams tops the list with 34 consecutive wins in 2013. Swiatek has a long way to go to catch Serena. However, with her current form, it certainly does not look impossible.

Swiatek is vying for back-to-back titles in Miami

As Swiatek reached the semi-final, she has a great opportunity to win the title in Miami. At Indian Wells, she played some outstanding tennis to win the title. Before that, she won the Qatar Open as well in a dominant fashion.
Now, she has a great opportunity to win the title at Miami, as she faces Jessica Pegula in the semi-final. If she wins that match, she could face Naomi Osaka in the final. Meanwhile, the Japanese player is scheduled to play against Belinda Bencic in another semi-final.
