The oldest player in the tournament clinched her spot in the semi-finals after defeating Greece’s Maria Sakkari on Thursday. Jessica Pegula defeated Sakkari by a comfortable margin of 6-3,6-2. She is now unbeaten on the group stage. Sakkari had hit 35 unforced errors, including 8 double faults. Pegula never looked too troubled by the 28-year-old, but her concerns were mainly with the courts and the weather. But she didn’t let those hamper her game and now she looks like a real contender for the year-end crown.
