‘Love You More Than I Can Ever Show’- 18-Year-Old Coco Gauff Pens Down an Emotional Note to Celebrate Her Inspiring Mother

Coco Gauff, the American tennis professional, has a well-rounded personality. She is just a teenager but knows how to be grateful and humble. She readily accepts her faults and takes responsibility for her actions. However, it does not mean Gauff’s a pushover. She voices her concerns when matters challenge her ethics. Recently, keeping true to her outspoken nature, she revealed how much she appreciates her mother’s presence in her life.

Here’s the heartwarming note she drafted for her mother.

Coco Gauff writes a message for her mother

On the occasion of Candi Gauff’s birthday, the 18-year-old penned her thoughts. “Happy birthday, mom. I love you more than I can ever show,” she wrote.

“Enjoy your day. Thank god for you every day,” the caption added. Gauff is the eldest of her siblings and the one who inherited her parents’ athletic skills. Her father is a former basketball player and her mother used to be a track and field athlete. They both encouraged Gauff to pursue her dream of becoming as great as the 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.

Well, looking at the way she is advancing, it won’t be wrong to say that she might achieve her dream someday. After all, Gauff has already defeated the seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams and has marked her name on the Russian legend Maria Sharapova’s records. She is the youngest since Sharapova to fight for a Majors title and qualify for the WTA Finals.

Gauff’s father’s views about people calling her a prodigy

The terms, such as ‘prodigy’, in a way, convey that a player is born talented. Though it isn’t supposed to bring down a player’s potential, it for sure nullifies his/her efforts. The efforts one puts into reaching the level they are at get washed and that is what Corey Gauff didn’t want for his daughter.

In the year 2019, when Gauff got the better of Venus and became the youngest player to claim a WTA title, people started calling her a prodigy and Corey said, “She might be overnight popular, but she’s not an overnight success.”
