At 40, Serena Williams is gunning for glory! The American legend is eying another Grand Slam title that will see her level Margaret Court’s record of 24 major titles. She has left behind her injury struggles to return to the tennis court. Determined as ever, the former World Number 1 is hoping to put on a good show in the upcoming hard-court season.
Further, Serena made a comeback last season after a lengthy injury layoff. She had suffered a hamstring injury at Wimbledon last season that kept her away from tennis for around a year. She made a comeback at Eastbourne International, playing in doubles with Ons Jabeur. Subsequently, she received a wildcard entry to participate in the Wimbledon Championships. Recently, Serena gave her fans a glimpse of the gift from her husband, Alexis Ohanian.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion took to Instagram to display the hard court built by Ohanian. Sharing a story on her official Instagram handle, she posted a picture of the hard court that her husband had built to help his wife to practice, especially during the lockdown. Reacting to a fan’s tweet about this, Alexis said, “Yes. Official US Open surface, too!”

Serena was seen in an intense practice session here. She is determined to put up a good show in the upcoming hard-court tournaments after a disappointing Wimbledon campaign.

The 40-year-old has a packed hard-court swing schedule. She has confirmed her participation in the National Bank Open in Toronto. Subsequently, she will also be playing in the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati before the US Open.
