Sloane Stephens Reveals New Initiative to Support Unprivileged Children

American tennis star Sloane Stephens has opened up on her unique partnership with global business solutions provider SAP.
The collaboration is aimed at supporting unprivileged children aspiring to a better lifestyle through excellence in tennis.
Women’s tennis governing body WTA has shared a video on its official Twitter handle where the 27-year-old American details the goals that she has set for herself through this initiative.

Sloane says her foundation is aimed at giving better lifestyles to unprivileged kids through tennis
Currently ranked 42nd in singles, Stephens said that as part of the collaborative project she opened a foundation that is focused on helping “kids enjoy tennis, live healthy lifestyles and focus on education”.
She added that this initiative gives the children an opportunity to take an interest in a game which they wouldn’t otherwise have played and possibly make a career out of it.

Stephens added that what makes the experience of taking this project forward an enriching one is that she gets to work with children of color and those from other less-privileged communities.
As the WTA mentions in a message tagged with the post, the driving force behind the initiative is to “dream big and achieve bigger”.

She described the coming together of the Sloane Stephens Foundation and the SAP as a “great partnership” as empowerment of unprivileged communities is at the core of the initiative.
“When you are looking to combine and come together, you can do so much more with two than with one,” the 27-year-old said.

On the career front, Stephens has been on a slump lately as she crashed out of this year’s Australian Open in the first round after losing to Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan.
She made the third round of the US Open last year before going down to 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.
