Belarusian tennis star Victoria Azarenka gave a bizarre review post her first day of practice at Mutua Madrid Open 2021. Funny enough, it was not related to her game or the surface but about on-court tennis photography.
The Mutua Madrid Open shared snapshots of WTA players practising on their official Twitter account. It led to an in-depth conversation on athletic shots between the former World No.1 and her fans.
At first, the tournament page uploaded a ridiculous picture of the current World No. 12 Victoria Azarenka. In response, she playfully mocked them for selecting such a silly pose.

Furthermore, the two-time Australian Open champion clarified that she understands that the pictures are more about intensity, movement and moment. However, what she cannot contemplate is how they surface on the internet.
“Am I the only one who is sometimes like why and why would this be a photo on like front page of the website or something?!?! Maybe fans like it? Maybe other players like them too?” She added, “Maybe I’m the only one,” she added.
Following that, one fan explained that tennis photographers obsess with having the ball in the frame over everything else, to which she responded, “That is bizarre kinda.” He added that sometimes it is about intensity, and sometimes photographers don’t care as long as the snap is in focus.
Here’s some of the best from the Azarenka-fans discussion on tennis photography.
