Furthermore, Venus Williams is now collaborating with the Women’s Tennis Association and US-based online Mental Health portal BetterHealth. Together, they have announced a provision of $2 million worth of free mental health therapy to the public.

Not only will the program highlight how important mental health for all is, but it will also aim to remove the stigma around the topic. Those who sign up at BetterHealth will get a month of free therapy.

“I really wanna empower people with practical tools that can make a real difference,” Venus said to CNBC. “I’ve had access to mental healthcare throughout my 20 plus years on the tour. It’s made a world of difference to me to be a human being who can achieve what I’ve achieved in my life,” she shared.

The rest of the WTA season will net more therapy
Each ace hit by WTA players for the remainder of the year, BetterHealth will contribute to another $1 million worth of therapy. Venus Williams had previously talked about the importance of mental health in a New York Times guest essay.

She explained the importance of availing therapy. “It doesn’t matter who you are. You need support. You can’t divorce mental health from anything you do,” she wrote. Furthermore, she highlighted how mental health affects one’s physical well-being as well, along with their decision-making.
