Recently, Swiatek claimed the title at the Miami Open, and the wishes started pouring in. Along with all the wishes came an appreciation from American tennis professional Billie Jean king.
Iga Swiatek Receives Legends Appreciation
After thrashing the former world no.1, Naomi Osaka, in the finale of the Miami Open, in straight sets of 6-4 and 6-0; Swiatek has gained the interest of many tennis players, including the legend Billie Jean King. The former world no.1 and the founder of WTA have acknowledged the talent of the 20-year-old. King took Twitter to wish Iga and wrote, “What a terrific start to your year.”

King has always been working on the betterment of tennis for women. She also has raised her voice for equality in the game and when young female players like Swiatek show such a level of gameplay, she never fails to honor them.

Swiatek’s This Year’s Hard Court Run
Iga Swiatek, the current world no.1 hasn’t geared down since Dubai international championship. The chain of victory of hers started in the hard courts of Qatar and hasn’t been broken yet. Initially, she had a few issues with the scheduling of matches in Miami. However, she molded herself accordingly and now has taken three consecutive title wins. The Pole also made a record by having 16 match win streak, thereafter taking a seat amongst legends such as Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova.

Iga plays tactfully, makes her opponent run, and spends her energy wisely. All these traits of hers will help her keep the 17 match win streak rolling in the upcoming clay-court season.
