However, Super Bowl isn’t the only turf where it has been a sibling v/s sibling; tennis is one of them. As tennis fans were always eager for a Serena Williams v/s Venus Williams face-off. 

However, their last meeting was one of the most memorable ones. During the Australian Open 2017, Serena won her 23rd Grand Slam. But, no one was aware of the little 20-week surprise, not even her elder sister, whom she defeated to win the Season Opening title that year.

How did Venus Williams get to know about Serena Williams’ pregnancy?

 Recently, in a talk with SportsTalkOnPrime, Rennae Stubbs revealed insider information on how Venus got to know about Serena’s pregnancy. The Williams sisters squared off each other a massive 31 times on the circuit. However, it was the younger Williams siblings who won their encounters more often than the elder; Serena claimed 19 wins, while Venus won 12.

Moreover, the sisters, faced each other 16 times in the Majors. But the results are lop-sided in the favor of the 23-time Grand Slam champion, who won 11 matches. Their last encounter at the Australian Open 2017; the Major, that Serena claimed while being pregnant. Though none was aware of the same.

As Reanne Stubbs revealed, “And only 2 people knew; her agent and her husband (boyfriend then). And Venus didn’t know it until the very end, when they were gonna play doubles.”

But it seems Stubbs has reliable sources inside the circuit. As she further added, “I heard this from inside the crew. And they were supposed to play doubles and … say, you need to like lower down how much we are doing on the court for Serena. Cause she is pregnant! So can you imagine?”

While Serena and Venus Williams have an impeccable record when it comes to playing doubles in the Major. The sisters have played doubles final 14 times and have won it every time. However, the Williams sisters were unable to claim the 2017 Australian Open doubles title.
