MJF’s initial response to a rematch for the title was a clear no. This infuriated Joe and just before he could thrash an already injured MJF, his best mate Adam Cole intervened.

He pleaded with Samoa Joe to give him some time to convince MJF for the title rematch. And after a lot of persuasion, MJF finally agreed to have a title match against Samoa Joe on 30th December at the PPV Worlds End.
