Days have passed since Naomi got her way back to her old wrestling house, WWE, through a phenomenal Royal Rumble segment. But we can’t foresee the same thing for her best friend cum former tag teammate, Mercedes Mone aka Sasha Banks. Rather, her highly rumored AEW debut seemed to loom large with Tony Khan’s latest tease.

It’s not foregone for Khan to take the former WWE bigwigs in his court, but Sasha Banks’ potential signing was something that has been running in the rumor mill for a while now. Finally, he made it almost clear that Mone’s AEW arrival during the next ‘Big’ event in the house is just a matter of time now.

During a recent clip, Khan noted,  “I am excited to come to Boston. This show will be second to none. AEW Big Business is going to be a great show and I am really excited about it.” The AEW head honcho promised nothing but a great show in the TD Garden on the March 13th edition of Dynamite.

The way he emphasized the phrase, ‘Boston’ kept no mystery regarding his hint in bringing the former Sasha Banks into the business from her hometown.

While we can already imagine a “First Dance”-like the AEW debut for The Boss-turned-CEO in her hometown, it involved a lot of back and forth over the past few months.

The former WWE women’s stage team champion walked out of Vince McMahon’s company in May 2022 and successfully settled in NPJW after a while. However, there has been constant talk regarding her WWE and AEW signing ever since. Given the WWE talks have faded lately with a mutual disagreement, the AEW rumors only intensified.

Khan sparked the speculation first by announcing a tag team match for the January 11, episode of Dynamite in Los Angeles featuring Saraya and a Mystery Partner vs. Britt Baker and AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter. The fact that he announced an ordinary tag team five months ahead spoke about the potential of something special occurring in the match. While fans largely expected Sasha Banks to be Saraya’s Mystery partner, they were left disappointed at the end.
