WWE and AEW went head-to-head on October 11, Tuesday. While AEW fans witnessed Edge‘s in-ring debut at the Jacksonville-based promotion, the Stamford-based promotion had lined up the show with special appearances and surprise announcements.

Both the show w. WWE beat AEW by a significant number margin. Despite numbers showing that WWE did a better job at planning and executing their show, Chirs Jericho still believes that AEW did a better job than WWE.

He said, “Don’t get too far up your own a** because you (WWE/NXT) didn’t do that good of a job as far as crushing us. And our show was better than theirs, quite frankly. So, it doesn’t bother me. It’s competition, man. It’s good for the fans, it’s good for the companies.”

He stated that AEW’s loss didn’t bother him because he knew that, at the end of the day, AEW’s product was better than WWE’s. Continuing further, he bashed the Stanford-based promotion for stacking last week’s NXT show with top names in WWE.

Jericho accuses WWE of not trusting their NXT roster

Just like Tony Khan, Jericho also pointed out that WWE didn’t play a fair game by bringing The Undertaker, John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and others on NXT last week. He accused WWE of not trusting their NXT stars to pull in ratings for the show.

He said he asked Khan to play the same ‘stunt casting’ tactic as WWE did and go tit-for-tat with some AEW-affiliated celebrities. But the AEW president had full faith in his Dynamite stars to carry the show. Thus, he relied on his superstars for the show, unlike WWE.

Jericho adds that despite WWE playing the ‘stunt casting’ card, AEW still managed to pull quite a remarkable number of ratings for last week’s Dynamite show. So in conclusion he believes though WWE did win, AEW never lost the Tuesday Night War.
