Drew McIntyre is one of WWE’s most prominent talents and one of the main figures on Monday Night Raw. The wrestler’s contract, like that of many other superstars, expires this year. A topic that has been talked about a lot in recent months, with rumors of the Scottish Warrior’s discontent with his creative management.

However, according to PWInsider, WWE was working to extend Drew McIntyre’s contract, and it seems that negotiations are done as a major source claims that McIntyre has re-signed with the WWE. But could it be true? What about the AEW rumors, then? Here’s everything you need to know about McIntyre’s contract situation.

For many months, the possibility of seeing McIntyre out of WWE has been considered, as it seemed that Drew had no intention of renewing his contract, so the idea of seeing the Scot in AEW had been considered. However, this whole situation has been turned upside down, especially as a result of Drew’s good performance as a heel these months, further accentuated by McIntyre fighting for the world heavyweight championship against Seth Rollins.

And a few days ago, it was announced that WWE would hold a show in Italy on May 1. The promotional poster features, among other wrestlers, Drew McIntyre. This has come as a surprise to many, as the Scot’s contract expires after WrestleMania 40. Therefore, everything indicated that the Scotsman would renew his contract with the company. And according to BWE, the re-signing has been done.

Regardless of whether the renewal has been done yet or not, the wrestler will not miss WrestleMania XL. And, as confirmed by Fightful, WWE added time to the Scot’s contract due to his periods of inactivity due to injury, extending the validity of it until after the great event. It should be recalled that the media itself reported last year that McIntyre’s contract was expiring before WWE’s big annual event. Taking into account the proximity of the event and, in the absence of reaching an agreement with the fighter to sign a renewal, the company opted to resort to this clause to ensure the presence of the former world champion in the biggest event.

After his match at WrestleMania 39 vs. Sheamus and Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship, Drew McIntyre was reported to have been unhappy with his situation in WWE. It was said that he would have no interest in renewing his contract. This gave rise to rumors of a possible run for AEW. McIntyre was rumored to make his arrival in AEW at the great All-In event in August last year; however, as we all know, that did not happen, and the Scottish warrior is ready for another possible run in the WWE.

As for the negotiations to reach a new agreement, sources close to the fighter assured that both parties have held talks and that they want to continue working together. However, nothing has been officially confirmed. But it is reported that McIntyre is a talent that is much loved and respected by his peers and staff for his work, as well as by the media and for his involvement in community events. So it looks like the Scotsman has a chance to win gold at Mania and stay at WWE for a longer period with the World Heavyweight Championship in hand. What do you think? Will we get to see more of McIntyre? Let us know in the comments.
