A little while back, we were living a happening night straight from Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia, as the 14th edition of the Elimination Chamber descended upon the WWE Universe. While it was obvious for us to expect our favorite WWE bigwigs to let their mojo unveil during the massive PLE, there was certainly more in store. The epic and rare AEW-WWE symphony was in full play, with stars like Chris Jericho and Edge getting spotlighted big time.

Many AEW references have been heard and seen through the Optus stadium tonight: Explained

It is a foreign call for the Stamford-based promotion to promote the rival promotions’ products in any of its PLEs. However, they went against the norm this time and pulled Chris Jericho into the picture in a pretty corresponding way. He was name-dropped during the premium live event. That’s not it. WWE also brought the huge Edge element while displaying the epic Tribal Chief video package. Although the two significant Tony Khan troop references came to us as no less than a shocker, it definitely made some sense, given both of them had a decorative history with the promotion.

In the case of Y2J, he spent a good part of his entire wrestling career under the WWE banner and made a long-lasting legacy before jumping ship to AEW. And when it comes to Edge, his Hall of Famer tag speaks louder about his feats than any other explanation.

Why Randy Orton Winning Elimination Chamber 2024 Makes Total Sense

Moving ahead, despite shedding light on the rival promotion, the age-old WWE-AEW competitive vibe is still prevailing in the house.

WWE has always been a step ahead of Tony Khan’s promotion, be it in garnering more eyeballs in the weekly shows or standing top in the regular ratings war. To add to the glory, WWE recently got official applause for coming up with back-to-back super-hit PLEs in London, Saudi Arabia, and Puerto Rico. It was more special as it brought back WWE’s old gold days during the Attitude Era.

Also, the creative mastermind behind all the bookings, Triple H, got his flower as the prestigious Booker of the Year, and rightfully so. Nick Khan stood tall, being named the Promoter of the Year. While AEW also scooped their share of success inside or outside the award ceremonies, it is still left behind in many areas in comparison to WWE.
