Tony Khan is always vocal about how well he is taking care of his talent. Unlike Vince McMahon, Khan tends to reply to critics on social media and explain his decisions. But WWE legend Bubba Ray Dudley aka Bully Ray expressed his opinion on how the AEW head is limiting the potential of certain wrestlers like McMahon did.

Bully Ray feels Tony Khan is unaware of Wardlow’s potential

Dudley stated during Busted Open podcast, “It’s time to push Wardlow. But as I’ve said many times, if Tony Khan can’t relate to a talent, he’s not willing to push a talent. And it ain’t the first time, because the way Tony is with bigger guys, Vince McMahon was with smaller guys.”

According to Dudley, Khan seems to have reservations on pushing wrestlers that he perceives might be too big for the ring, similar to how McMahon famously held back on pushing wrestlers of smaller stature in favor of bigger ones like The Undertaker, Triple H and Dwayne Johnson. “I have seen it from my own eyes, I have heard it with my own ears from Vince. If Vince isn’t afraid of you, if Vince smelled fear on you, if Vince didn’t think you could handle yourself in a street fight. He just disregards you. Yeah, there are some smaller guys who made it for other reasons, like a Rey Mysterio a Spike Dudley. But when comes to big guys, Tony just doesn’t see it,” Dudley continued.

The former Hardcore champion disliked the stop-start nature of booking for Wardlow previously. Wardlow now seems to be on an upward trajectory. In the most recent episode of Dynamite, the 36-year-old made fans aware of his intentions to win the world title. Will Wardlow be a top superstar, or will his hype dwindle down like many superstars under Vince McMahon’s regime?

McMahon notoriously famous for last-minute changes

The previous regime of WWE was well-known for last-minute changes. Recent reports about Sasha Banks‘s departure from WWE also highlight many such issues. The former chairman of WWE was also not liked for his apparent favoritism towards certain superstars in the past.

During the Vince McMahon era, fans have stated multiple times how so many superstars did not get their due credit. Daniel Bryan’s Yes movement is a very good example of this. Fans were taking the show hostage, for McMahon to book Bryan in a title match. McMahon had to give in at this point, after which Bryan’s crowning moment happened at WrestleMania 30. Such moments are so rare which is why wrestling fans seemed to gravitate towards AEW when the promotion started. With Dudley accusing Khan of doing something similar, he may be due for a reality check as fans start to look for an alternative.
