Earlier this month on AEW Dynamite, Wardlow faced and defeated Komander. During the final moments of the match, Wardlow prepared to execute a powerbomb as a finishing blow. He delivered what he envisioned and scored the decisive victory. However, something caused significant pain in his knee. And after the match, Wardlow left the ring, showing a visible limp.

Reports had suggested that he would undergo medical tests, amidst suspicions of a possible meniscus tear. However, it seems Wardlow’s doing better and has turned his attention to attaining a title opportunity. He made an appearance on tonight’s edition of Dynamite. In his promo, he bragged about his dominance. But not just that, as he also took a shot at an injured CM Punk.

Tonight on Dynamite, Wardlow came into the ring to deliver a promo. He revealed that he was “pissed off” because two years ago, he had thousands of fans cheering him on. But now he has a rocket strapped to his sword that, instead of raising it, keeps it on the ground every time. And prevents it from gaining strength and rising every time he tries. A reference to him getting fewer opportunities for a title shot. Especially a shot at the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Naming the men whom he has defeated in his career—men who have held the title despite losing to him—he took a shot at CM Punk. In fact, he took a shot at his injury as he said, “Because The Best in the World, the ‘Real’ Heavyweight Champion, I beat his a*s like nobody has in his entire career. His body is still falling apart from me!”

Well, it is about time that Wardlow got a shot at the heavyweight belt. The dominant force has defeated the likes of MJF, CM Punk, and Samoa Joe in his career, so his resume surely speaks for itself. So it would be interesting to see if he gets a shot at the title soon. With the former TNT champion busy aiming for the heavyweight title, there is a different match planned for the TNT title now. At the AEW Revolution PPV, Christian Cage faces Daniel Garcia.

TNT matchup announced on Dynamite

On tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite, it has been confirmed that Christian Cage will face Daniel Garcia for the TNT Championship at Revolution 2024. Last week, Adam Copeland and Daniel Garcia competed to decide the next opponent for the reigning TNT champion. The match ended in a no-contest following an attack by The Patriarchy. Christian Cage took The Rated R Superstar away from the action. Nevertheless, this guaranteed that Garcia would step up to the challenge at the pay-per-view. And with tonight’s heated segment between the two, where Cage crossed all limits by bringing up Daniel Garcia’s father’s passing. It would be interesting to see if the challenger will dethrone Cage once and for all.
