However, his recent match at AEW Double or Nothing saw a spot that no one expected. The Hardys and Hook battled against Ethan Page and The Gunns in a six-person tag team match. During the match, Jeff attempted to do a Twist of Fate that was reversed. Following this, he ran towards the corner to do his famous ‘Whisper in the Wind’ move, only to take a nasty fall that looked like a major slip.

Jeff botching the move he had been doing for years invited some heat from the fans. Moreover, some even raised his drinking issue, labelling it as ring rust and even asking him to call it a day in his career.

However, some fans came in support of Jeff, claiming that he was selling an ankle injury or it was a planned move.

Whether it was planned or botched, Jeff was on the receiving end of criticism from the fans. Ring rust could have played a part in the mistake, but what exactly was the reason for his hiatus from wrestling?
