AEW Big Business brought forth the blockbuster pro wrestling return of Sasha Banks, a.k.a Mercedes Mone. Her AEW debut has generated a lot of buzz as the “CEO” already addressed “unfinished” business with her former opponent. While WWE fans would be disappointed she didn’t come back to the company, her former WWE colleagues were there to support her.

Mone makes her return to the squared circle after being sidelined with an ankle injury for 10 months following her bout with Willow Nightingale at NJPW Resurgence 2023. Fans in her hometown of Boston erupted as her graphics played on the screen. Her best friends and WWE stars Bayley and Naomi were also spotted in Boston ahead of her debut. But who else joined them?

Ahead of AEW Big Business, it was reported that Bayley and Naomi were in Boston. This led to fan speculation that they would be at the AEW Dynamite to show their support to their former WWE co-star. Bayley was spotted in attendance for Mone’s debut while a video also confirmed Naomi and former WWE Women’s tag team champion Tamina Snuka were also headed to AEW to support her.

Naomi posted a video of her and Bayley getting into a disguise ahead of the show alongside Tamina Snuka. The hashtags of the video on social media had ‘CEO’ in them. This is the moniker Mone is using in AEW. This isn’t also the first time the trio has shown up to support Mercedes Mone.

Last year they flew to California for NJPW’s Battle in the Valley to see Mone win the IWGP Women’s title. Naomi and Bayley have a long history with Mone and have tagged and faced her in multiple bouts in the WWE. Naomi and Banks also have a close bond as the two were part of the Team B.A.D faction which also included Tamina. Naomi and Banks also walked out of the WWE together in 2022. The duo walked out before a WWE RAW show in May 2022. After they were stripped of their titles, Naomi went to Impact Wrestling, and Banks went to NJPW.

Bayley and Banks competed in the first-ever Iron Woman match in WWE history. Taking place at NXT TakeOver: Respect on October 7, 2015, the two women cemented their legacy in pro wrestling history by putting on a clinic and have been friends since their days in NXT.

Bayley also went to Japan to catch Mone’s first appearance in NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 17. Nevertheless, the love isn’t one-sided as the newly crowned AEW star gushed over her best friend competing for glory at WrestleMania 40.

Mone puts Bayley over ahead of WrestleMania XL

On the Kicks Rock Podcast, Mone put Bayley over before her AEW debut. She said, “She does so much for that division. And I am just beyond proud to know to me that she is going to Main Event, WrestleMania because that’s how it should be.”

Bayley will be facing Iyo Sky for the WWE Women’s title at WrestleMania XL. However, she will also be facing Damage CTRL, who will be in Sky’s corner. There are speculations that Charlotte Flair and Naomi may come to her rescue. Bayley will have to face her own demons as she looks to bring the fight against the faction she once led.
