While the update doesn’t give us a clear-cut answer, it certainly doesn’t stop people around to start making assumptions and predictions. With each passing day, fans are becoming more curious to know about his status and his eventual decision moving forward.

From Edge’s perspective, though, he has achieved everything possible in WWE. With him closing SmackDown in front of his hometown in Toronto, against a worthy adversary in Sheamus, it could signal his end in WWE, with a potential new chapter in AEW.

With so much at stake, the superstar wishes to live his last run with no regrets. Besides, Edge’s best friend Christian is in AEW. While Toronto was memorable, a part of Edge would still like to conclude his journey with his best friend with whom he has won many tag team titles during their run as a tag team.

Edge also passed his baton to Christian when he retired back in 2011, by helping Christian win his first world title. An angle with Christian in AEW could complete their arc and give Edge the retirement he deserves.
