The wrestling world is filled with several iconic rivalries. One of the longest-running feuds in pro wrestling’s tag team division is that of The Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian Cage. Some of you might be familiar with these names as two of the best tag teams of the WWE’s Attitude Era. Because of this shared status at the top of the tag team division, they frequently came into confrontations with each other.

There have been a number of instances where we have seen all four in the ring together, battling to stand victorious. A tag team match, including all of these members, was a long time ago. But now, fans might get excited to know that they could be coming together to finish off their age-old rivalry. Fans saw a number of entertaining tag-team feuds between the duos in the Attitude Era, with Dudley Boyz often added to the mix. In fact, the promotion even used their SummerSlam match to introduce their first-ever TLC match to the audience.

Even in the coming years, they faced off a number of times, whether as tag teams or in solo matches. However, the score between the two best teams was never settled once and for all.

Several matches, including No Mercy [1999], Unforgiven [2000], SummerSlam [2000], Insurrextion [2000], WrestleMania X7, and so on, gave fans unforgettable memories. The teams usually traded wins with there being no proper ending to their feud. However, that might be about change.

Luckily for fans, there is a possibility that this could work out to benefit all the wrestlers, the audience, as well as the wrestling promotion working as the event host.

Expectations to see the legendary match at AEW All In

Several wrestling fans are set to reach the Wembley Stadium in London on 27th August for AEW ‘All In’ this year. After using his billionaire father’s NFL connectionsTony Khan was finally able to get AEW to do an overseas event. Even though everything about the event looks prepared, some would say that the event could still use a ‘legendary element’. With Edge a free agent and Christian already in AEW, a reunion and a match with Hardyz may be more feasible than we think.

For those of you who are new to AEW’s events, ‘All In’ could be regarded as the promotion’s ‘WrestleMania’ level event. So, having a historically significant pro wrestling match might really help the promotion with a positive audience review. Moreover, The Hardy Boyz, as a tag team, is not engaged in a storyline as of now. Introducing their old rivals could bring out a potentially useful storyline for AEW.

Fans should also note that this is not a speculation being made out of the blue. In fact, ‘The Rated-R Superstar’ himself hinted at how he is looking forward to working with his former teammate any day now. While Edge didn’t clearly give us a date of rejoining, his words sounded assuring.

Edge all set to join AEW following ‘All In’ 2023?

The WWE Hall of Famer had previously retired from wrestling in 2011 due to an injury, only to return 9 years later. And now, Edge again had his last match in WWE on Friday Night SmackDown. The wrestler gave his all to pin down Sheamus. Before coming to conclusions, fans should note that his match with the Irish wrestler was the last of his current WWE contract. However, it does not mean that he is retiring from pro wrestling.

“You Are Going to See Someone…” – Matt Hardy Talks About How Jeff Hardy Would Now Want to “Make a Difference” in the Society

One simple reason behind the logic that this probably wasn’t Edge’s retirement could simply be the fact that he never announced it as one. Usually, wrestlers make an emotional retirement speech and or announce prior to their final match that they would hang up their wrestling gear after one final match. Edge never indicated that he is done with the sport. On the contrary, he once hinted at what he really wanted to do in the wrestling world one day.

While talking to Metro UK in 2021, Edge was asked whether he would like to work with his partner Christian again. The WWE legend exclusively confessed, “I would love it! I think at some point that would need to happen—just because there’s so many opportunities there, between Edge and Christian.

If these reasons were not enough for you to get convinced, perhaps AEW wrestlers teasing Edge’s potential arrival might help.

AEW wrestlers welcome Edge even before his official arrival

As we all know that some AEW stars like Jeff HardyMatt Hardy, Christian Cage, and more on the list previously worked for WWE. So, some of these wrestlers excitedly talking about The Rated-R Superstar is a sign that he might be confirmed to appear in the promotion. Even before the wrestler got the chance to have his last match in WWE, Anthony Bowens appeared in a podcast to talk about his potential appearance in AEW.

When asked about who he would like to see brought in AEW, Bowens replied, “Considering I just said Edge & Christian, I think Edge. I would love to see Edge come over and reunite with Christian.” Combining the 32-year-old’s words with the former WWE champion’s desire to work with Christian again gives us a speculation to rely upon.

Moreover, when Dax Harwood shared a very specific picture on his Twitter account, it gave a few wrestling fans a hint about what he was pointing towards.
