The ever-expanding WWE -AEW rivalry trajectory has again been on the surface with unusual success in Tanga Loa’s high-flying Backslash debut. As the new tangy twist in The Bloodline following a post-WrestleMania stale successfully touted huge numbers in the viewership chart, Tony Khan’s profligate as a booker has been brutally exposed.

The lackluster response to AEW’s new signings, including Mercedes Mone, Kazuchika Okada, and a few more, allowed the shots to hit right on the spot.

The recent Bloodline sensation Tama Tonga slid into Reigns’ family saga during a recent episode of SmackDown alongside the de facto leader of the faction Solo Sikoa amidst the absences of The Rock and Roman Reigns. The unified power of Tonga and Sikoa ousted Jimmy Uso and frightened the Wise Man to the core, leading to the start of a whole new era inside the stable. Ever since the segment aired, fans have been waiting with bated breath to see the non-Samonan wrestler lace up his boots for a match.

After a few weeks, they finally got their reward of patience at a live event in Italy where Tonga alongside Sikoa took out the duo of Randy Orton and LA Knight. However, the real game changer hit during an exaggerated Backlash night emanating from Lyon, France, days later, when his younger brother, Tanga Loa, unexpectedly interfered in the kickoff match against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. The surprising second inclusion from the Haku family got its due as an elevated viewership number, as depicted in a recent report. It suggested that the stellar debut crossed over 50,000,000 views on social media within just 72 hours.

The number is reportedly higher from the combined views of Khan’s landmark debuts like Mercedes Mone, Okada, and Ospreay. Apart from the big debuts, Khan also couldn’t turn the tide in his favor in the recent Dynamite episodes and the former WWE writer Vince Russo scaled out why.

The hidden loopholes behind AEW’s poor viewership score: Explained

Khan left no stone unturned to make his business flourish. From over-hyping the segments to stockpiling talents one after another, he did everything to be at the top of the ratings war. But, the same isn’t reflected in the recent declined status of the major AEW shows and PPVs. The recent Dynamite episode that contained a massive return segment of Kenny Omega barely scored a mediocre mark of 700k viewers.

Shedding light on the potential reason for this consistent downfall, Vince Russo noted the AEW head honcho only talked about how great a particular match was and never really admitted the fewer fans-engagement part. This denial ultimately led to no improvements in the long run.
