AEW Full Gear is a PLE that will air on Saturday, November 18. Coming Live from the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, the PLE has gained a ton of online attention. Despite the mess Tony Khan created for himself and the company, fans are still excited about the PLE and everything it could offer in terms of storytelling, especially for MJF.

There have been a number of releases from the WWE this year. Full Gear could be the best place for those wrestlers to debut.

One of the most interesting storylines going into AEW Full Gear centers around MJF and a masked figure in a Devil mask. For quite some time now, the masked figure has initiated attacks and beatdowns on MJF and anyone who stands with him. Wrestling fans speculate it could be an ex-WWE star. But who could it be, and why?

The first choice could be Matt Riddle. Despite recently having a child, and this not being his traditional style, Riddle could have donned the role of the masked figure. Waiting to make his grand high-fly debut, Riddle could be toning his performance down so as not to give his identity away. Fans in the WWE loved Riddle for his in-ring work and great comic timing.

Mustafa Ali was released from the company just nine days before he faced Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship. He, along with Dolph Ziggler, was released after 100 other employees were terminated from the WWE. This took place on September 21, 2023, and AEW Full Gear would be a great place to make his return to the squared circle.

As mentioned above, Ziggler and Ali were released at the same time, and either one of them could be under the mask. Ziggler is ranked as one of the hardest-working members of the WWE roster. Making his debut in AEW could help boost the program, with Ziggler’s fans tuning in to watch him. Despite all the speculation, nothing has been confirmed who the person under the mask is.

Nevertheless, the AEW Full Gear event is set for a stacked match card.

One take at a time

My passion for professional wrestling began when I saw Kane ripping the Hell in a Cell door off in the iconic 1997 match. I used to enjoy watching WWE re-runs at 5 in the evening when I got home from school. It was sort of a ritual for me.
