Moxley already has a name for himself in AEW and is loved by the fans. However, Strickland and White are building a reputation for themselves. Winning this match and facing either Bryan Danielson or Eddie Kingston would be a massive push for the two stars. However, Khan and the booking team saw it fit for Moxley to win.

We currently live in an era of established stars putting over younger talent. This is an unwritten rule of the pro wrestling world. However, with Moxley’s booking, it does not feel like he’s set to put anyone over.

The reason for the uproar and fan reaction

Many stars in the pro wrestling world have taken it upon themselves to put younger, more deserving stars over. In the WWE, John Cena was seen doing so by putting over Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel. Seeing the booking from Khan and the creative team, fans were quick to express their emotions online.

Many claimed the wrong person won

The sentiment was the same for those who claimed White or Strickland winning would have solidified them.
