Tony Khan recently shared a heartfelt homage to one of his former employees on his death anniversary. The deceased superstar worked in AEW for around seven months. But even in such little time, Khan had recognized the true potential of the late star. Unfortunately, the superstar couldn’t live much longer to exhibit more of his talent to the world.

The superstar in question here is none other than Mr. Brodie Lee (who went by the name Luke Harper in WWE). He died on December 26, three years ago in 2020. On the day of his passing, the AEW President remembered him and shared an emotional message on social media.

“I was fortunate to work with him,” Tony Khan said

Everyone who crossed paths with Jon shared the belief that he is a great man who loves his amazing family above all + he also loves wrestling. I was fortunate to work with him, and like so many, I will always miss him.”

Death is a part of life. But when someone dies young, it’s a hard pill to swallow. Such was the case with Lee. He died at the age of 41 due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. It is a rare condition that causes the continuous thickening of lung tissue, leading to the inability of the lungs to function.

His death was so sudden that it left the wrestling universe in utter shock. Wrestlers and fans alike couldn’t wrap their heads around the news of his sudden demise. Speaking of shocking deaths, Lee’s former stable mate from the Wyatt family in WWE, Bray Wyatt, also shared a similar fate.
