WCW Legend Reveals That Rey Mysterio Is Currently Advising a Superstar Who Showed Traits of the Lucha Legend in Recent AEW Dream Match

Professional wrestling can be very tough on the body. If certain moves aren’t done correctly, there is a high risk of sustaining an injury. Various performers practice different styles of competing in the ring, ranging from a low toll on the body to being very dangerous. A WCW legend recently revealed that Rey Mysterio is currently providing advice to an upcoming wrestler who has displayed traits similar to the Master of 619.
The business is filled with various examples of careers ending abruptly due to horrendous injuries. That may be partly due to the rigors involved in the regular move set deployed by a performer. Konnan has recently talked about how he and the 2023 Hall of Fame inductee are giving words of wisdom to an impressive talent.

He was talking about El Hijo Del Vikingo who appeared for the first time on American television last month. On advising him, the former 3 Live Kru member said on the K100 podcast, “Not only have I told him (Vikingo), I had Rey Mysterio tell him.”
On Mysterio having a word with Vikingo, he said, “He already needs a knee operation and Rey has had 14, so I told him to talk to Rey, and Rey’s giving him very good advice because I want that guy to last. He’s talented and he’s a good kid.”

Vikingo would surely look to incorporate Mysterio and Konnan’s wise words in his work in the squared circle. The 25-year-old competed in a dream match on the March 22 edition of AEW Dynamite against Kenny Omega.

Vikingo has been a part of the AAA promotion since 2017. His high-risk high-reward strategy has seen him skyrocket to the top echelons in terms of popularity. The AAA Mega champion has also appeared in Impact Wrestling and recently in ROH as well. While his style is quite attractive but his match with Omega showcased that it has room for zero margins of error.
Konnan and Rey Mysterio have been in the business for decades and especially the latter is a master at extending his career. El Hijo Del Vikingo is undoubtedly a gifted wrestler. And he will surely hope to achieve a lot of success in his career. There will be a much greater chance of that happening if the AAA wrestler heeds the advice given to him by the veterans.
