“He Didn’t Have to Do This”: Fans Express Concern as 63-Year-Old WWE Hall of Famer Defies Age With Extreme Action in AEW

Sting is one of the most iconic pro wrestlers of all time. With his face paint and dark persona, he became one of the faces of the Monday Night Wars between WCW and WWE. Having spent most of his career with WCW before their demise, he has also wrestled for a few other promotions. Currently, he is signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and has frequently wrestled for them. Recently, in an episode of AEW: Rampage, Sting was involved in a spot that drew mixed reactions from the fans.

Steve Borden, aka Sting, signed for AEW in 2020. Since then, he has aligned with Darby Allin and feuded with other wrestlers on the roster.

Recently the two squared off against Brody King and Buddy Matthews of House Of Black in a no disqualification tag team match. King pushed Sting off the top rope during the match and sent the 63-year-old through a table.

Fans have mixed reactions to the Sting table spot

AEW hosted a special Rampage episode titled Rampage: Grand Slam this past week. The match card was stacked and one of the main attractions of the night was the tag team match involving Sting.

The match with House of the Black members was a violent affair with even The Great Muta making an appearance.

Sting Believes WWE Legend The Undertaker Never Wanted to Work With Him

In the video below, we can see Brody King pushing the former WCW World Champion off the top rope, sending him crashing through one table, while his head bounced off another one. This was a dangerous spot; hence fans had mixed reactions to Sting doing such a stunt.

This was indeed a rough landing for the wrestling legend and the fans had their say over this on Twitter. Many fans thought Sting didn’t need to take this bump and it could prove to be dangerous.

However, some were full of praise for the veteran.

Others blamed AEW owner Tony Khan for putting Sting in such a spot.

A few fans were bugged for different reasons.

Indeed, the fans still think highly of the ‘Stinger’ and wish to see more of him, but they would want him to be more careful with such spots. Of course, Sting is a seasoned veteran and knows what he is doing, but at his age, such stunts are high risk. Despite this scary bump, Sting and Darby Allin managed to score a win over The House of Black.

This is not the first time Sting has done a crazy spot in AEW involving tables. Earlier this year at AEW Revolution, Sting dove off a mezzanine onto Andrade El Idolo through three tables!
