This revelation was made in a recent edition of the Coming In Hot With Wallace, York, and Bryan podcast. The show’s host Brent Wallace spoke about Johnson’s being a part of a consortium that is willing to buy NHL side Ottawa Senators.

Wallace said, “So here’s who, so with one of the groups, the Neko Sparks group, I was told that their big celebrity is Alex! You wanna unveil it”—followed by archive footage of Johnson introducing himself in his usual WWE style. Wallace continued, “That’s right Dwayne Johnson ‘The Rock’ is apparently involved with the Neko Sparks group.”

Johnson is not the only movie star associated with buying the 31-year-old Senators’ team. His ‘Red Notice’ co-star Ryan Reynolds is also in the fray. For now, it seems The Brahma Bull might be ahead of him in the race. It is also essential to know more about the group that the 10-time WWE champion might pull off the takeover with.

What is the Neko Sparks Group?

The Neko Sparks group is backed by Los-Angeles based businessman Neko Sparks. He is the owner of a media production company and a technology firm.

And Sparks is on the verge of becoming the first black owner of an NHL team. The group of potential buyers consists of various big names from all walks of life, with apparently a major name in the music industry part of the group. And now the reported addition of Johnson will surely give wings to the plans of a successful takeover.

Dwayne Johnson’s name holds a lot of value owing to the superstardom he enjoys. And merely his association with any business proposition adds a lot of weight. Ottawa Senators might be in line to get a set of new owners, and the Neko Sparks Group is highly likely to be at the helm. With Johnson at their side, it’s hard to bet against them failing.
