Even though WWE’s main roster PLEs for 2023 have all been over, the promotion is still not letting fans off the hook. The Stamford-based company is keeping things exciting with interesting cross-brand appearances. Tonight’s SmackDown show will have a similar concept to execute.

Cody Rhodes gets added to the blue brand

Randy Orton was signed to SmackDown soon after his return. Even though CM Punk is a free agent right now within WWE, the promotion announced beforehand that he would be appearing on the blue brand tonight. And now, another name has been added to the list of top appearances tonight and it is none other than Cody Rhodes.

Let’s briefly explore the possibilities that can take place in SmackDown tonight for Cody Rhodes’ near future in the Stamford-based company.

Cody Rhodes’ storyline in early 2024

The former AEW EVP feuded with numerous stars since his 2023 return. However, his most formidable foe was Roman Reigns. Even though WWE could revive their feud again to complete Rhodes’ ‘full circle moment’, they might tease fans with another dispute before that.

Recent reports suggested that when Rhodes had first returned to WWE, the creative department was planning to put him against Randy Orton in a storyline. Given their ‘Legacy’ together, this would have been a good emotional investment for fans.

Since both Orton and Cody Rhodes would be present in the Blue brand’s show tonight, they might lock horns and start a conflict that would conclude a few weeks before WrestleMania 40, leading to a perfect second conclusion to Cody Rhodes’ feud with The Tribal Chief.

Whatever the appearance may be, the promotion has surely grabbed the attention of fans with this tweet.
