Vince McMahon is perhaps the biggest name in WWE history. The current executive chairman who held the fortress for over 40 years is still maintaining his foothold within WWE creatives and operations. However, at 77, McMahon also has his fair share of health problems.

Now, according to new reports by Ringside News, the Chairman of the Board went under the knife. McMahon reportedly underwent spinal surgery, which was nearly 5 hours long. They also noted that it was a “life-changing” surgery, which might affect his future work. In the same reports, we learn that even the COO Triple H wasn’t present for RAW, and WWE legend Bruce Prichard ran RAW this week.

Even though most people were not aware of the surgery until they made it public, it surely raises serious questions. Vince McMahon might not make a return in time for SummerSlam. But if he does, it won’t be the first time Vince would have made a comeback behind the scenes.

After managing the company for 40 years, Vince McMahon announced his retirement in 2022. He, however, shocked the board by making a comeback as the Executive Chairman in early 2023, primarily to facilitate a potential sale, the result of which is the merger between WWE and UFC’s parent company Endeavor.

Even though Triple H has remained in command as the COO and the Head of Creative for WWE, rumors have persisted to float about Vince’s significant input in creative decisions since his return.

While the surgery doesn’t indicate his return, it’ll be hard to rule out the possibility of the once owner of the company not dictating decisions for the marquee event of the summer, SummerSlam.
