The feud between WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg and Punk has long since faded into the past. While Dogg was outspoken about his dislike for Punk, their relationship has taken a turn for the better after spending quality time together recently.

With Punk returning to the promotion during Survivor Series, it seems that the two reconciled during a backstage interaction. While Dogg had made several disparaging remarks about Punk, increasingly so over the last year, the two have buried the hatchet. When asked about the Second City Savior, Dogg recently spoke his mind in an interview.

He said, “That’s negativity, and it all drained out of me when he shrugged like, ‘Oh, come on.’ And it harkens me back to ‘Brothers don’t shake hands, brothers gotta hug.’ And he pulled me in, and we hugged, dude. It made me feel good—for him to do that, by the way. It made me feel really good. But it immediately made me feel ashamed of my behavior, not his behavior, not anything he’d done.” In a reflective moment, Road Dogg expressed regret and credited divine intervention for his reconciliation with CM Punk.

Before his termination from AEW, CM Punk got suspended after a backstage altercation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks following AEW All Out. In January, Dogg revealed in an interview his criticism of Punk on his podcast, characterizing Punk as “kind of an a-hole.”

He said, “The truth be told, and this ain’t an I told you so, but it keeps coming out like one and I apologize for that. I knew how this guy was from dealing with him personally, but it finally seems like other people have seen how he is too now and it’s like, oh, okay, so he’s not the second coming. He’s just a man and he’s kind of an a**hole. I don’t know how else to say it.” Punk’s turbulent time continued with the loss of the AEW World Championship and removal from the AEW.
