There is no denying the fact that John Cena has been massively influential to an entire generation of WWE fans. In the PG era, when WWE was approaching kids and families, Cena became a great hero for many. Now, a star from that generation has grown up and is very close to wrestling in the ring with the 16-time world champion.

While we have seen wrestlers take on their idols before, it feels different this time. Austin Theory, like many fans, got into wrestling because of Cena and has a probability of beating the Hollywood star. One more striking thing about it is that Theory might beat Cena by following the Leader of the Cenation’s well-known catchphrase.

On the latest episode of WWE The Bump, US Champion Austin Theory was the guest. The biggest thing going on right now around him and the US Championship is John Cena. But before that, on the show, Theory, being a lifelong Cena fan until now, was asked if there is one thing by Cena that he sticks by.

He answered, “One thing I’ve always stuck by ever since I was a kid and even at that moment, people can think it’s a cheesy catchphrase but it’s true, ‘Never Give Up.’ I did everything he said. And that’s what’s funny to me too… I’m the one guy they hate on that didn’t give up. I do the one thing that you all scream and I’m the bad guy.”

On the show, Theory admitted to being a true fan of Cena, even going to WrestleMania only to watch him in the ring. This comes as a total surprise for people who only know the segments that the two have shared before.

But, even though Theory follows the lifelong mantra of Cena, he hasn’t been the best while talking about Cena recently. After his successful win at Elimination Chamber, the US Champion called out people for talking about Cena, despite his impressive victory.

Only time will tell if the US Champ will be able to back up his words in the ring when he faces his hero-turned-nemesis in the ring at WrestleMania 39.
