‘Banned Like Chyna, Unbelievable’: Fans Irate After WWE’s Ultimate Disrespect to Brock Lesnar’s Wife Sable

There are plenty of unwritten rules in WWE, but there are superstars who eventually break them with or without intention. WWE Hall of Famer Edge did the same during his appearance at the latest episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Addressing the crowd of Madison Square Garden, The Rated R superstar reflected on his remarkable 25-year journey with the company. In a surprising turn of events, the 49-year-old, name-dropped ex-WWE talent Sable who used to be his secret partner back in 1998.

Modern fans might be unaware of Sable’s phenomenal legacy except for the fact that she’s Brock Lesnar’s wife. But those who are familiar with the Attitude Era know the best of what Sable brought to the business, especially to the women’s division. But nowadays WWE has reportedly put a ban on mentioning her name in any WWE programming.

How Sable went from being an iconic female figure to fading into obscurity?

The former woman’s champion and two-time Playboy CoverGirl had all the spotlight on her throughout her time in business. However, her immense popularity wasn’t just confined to the squared circle. She pushed forward the Diva era in Women’s wrestling and inspired a bunch of female wrestlers to make history.

However, there has been some air of legal controversy regarding her WWF walkout in 1999. Ultimately, she managed to settle the issue with the Stamford-based company in August of the same year. Her rampant return in 2003 made shockwaves in the industry although her momentum was short-lived as she departed the company again in 2004. It was the time when her chemistry with Brock Lesnar inflated and eventually led to marriage.

While her second WWE exit was on good terms, it extended to her final goodbye to the wrestling scene. She hasn’t appeared or garnered hype for herself in the business since then until Edge broke the chain at this week’s SmackDown.

While it’s not clear if Edge found himself in deep water after SmackDown or not, according to former WWE star Torrie Wilson, this was beyond the rule book of WWE. Nevertheless, the WWE Universe was not pleased to be reminded of the company’s unreasonable stance on the female legend.

Fans slammed WWE for being unnecessarily hard on former legend, Sable

Torrie Wilson, 47, revealed that she was instructed not to mention Sable during her Hall of Fame speech. She jokingly noted that one would have to travel to Timbuktu in Minnesota to find Sable, as she is nowhere on the pro wrestling map.

Sable and Wilson have a well-documented history together. Besides having many common things during their respective WWE runs, they were both featured on the cover of Playboy. However, her confession made fans utterly disturbed and agitated with WWE, as they couldn’t find any logic behind their bizarre decision.

They compared Sable’s instance with that of another banned star Chyna.

Some of them wonder how Lesnar would react to it.

A few are confused about how Edge could come up with her name at SmackDown if WWE already banned her.

Most of the fans find it odd and ridiculous.

However, some also gave a couple of legit reasons behind it that might make sense.

Now, we need more updates to be more clear about the exact reason for WWE banning her. But Edge mentioning Sable might be a sign that WWE is softening their stance. Only time will say the rest.
