In a clip from 2003, WWE Hall of Famer Randy Savage was seen calling out to Hulk Hogan. In this iconic clip, Macho Man was seen meeting Curtis Jackson III, famously known by his stage name, 50 Cent. Savage was there to promote his rap album ‘Be A Man’, where he gave out a free copy to the rapper. In his usual Savage way, he turned to the camera to tell Hulk Hogan to man up and stop being a punk. The rap album was released in 2003.

Only a few wrestlers could come close to Randy Savage’s savageness. Dubbed Macho Man, the late star was prolific for his performance in the ring. After debuting in June 1985, he became a staple in WrestleMania, after he competed in the second installment of the mega live event. During his reign as the champion, his iconic tag team partnership with Hulk Hogan started. However, due to a misunderstanding, the friendship between Mega Powers turned sour, and they were never the same.

Macho Man had a star-studded career earning a name for himself and being a formidable pro wrestler. However, the end of his career came after one of his most iconic appearances.

Randy Savage’s cage-match injury

WWE fans who grew up in the late ’90s and early ’00s have seen Randy Savage making a short yet iconic appearance. The late star was pivotal for Peter Parker to fully develop his powers. He was seen in Sam Raimi’s Spiderman, which came out in 2002. Instead of being Randy Savage, he was called Bonesaw McGraw. According to the plot, Peter Parker is dressed up in pajamas and a mask to survive three minutes in the cage with him to win $3,000 cash.

But during the filming of the segment, Savage suffered an injury. In the scene where he was flipped over into the cage, the late star landed on his neck in an awkward position. However, as time went by, the injury started to get worse.

In late 2004, Savage was a part of TNA, where he was the rival of the top heel of the promotion, Jeff Jarret. Fans immediately noticed that something was off about their favorite. It was observed that Savage moved more stiffly and had very little mobility. He was even told to perform an elbow delivery once from the top of the steel cage. The star who was already over 50 years at that time said he couldn’t do it and passed on the opportunity. He later left the company due to creative differences and decided to retire. The Hall of Famer passed on May 20, 2011, due to a heart attack.
