The Fourth of July edition of NXT saw the return of the Raw Underground match, now known as NXT Underground. The match saw the NXT superstars go rogue in the ring without ropes. In the Underground match, Eddy Thorpe collided with Damon Kemp in a winning effort. However, the crowd went bonkers after watching Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Stevenson clean house by dishing out suplexes.

Interestingly, Thorpe is coached by Stevenson, who is also the brother of Damon Kemp. After tonight’s match, WWE has teased a brother vs brother match in the future. But, Gable Stevenson is yet to make his official in-ring debut.

After Damon Kemp conceded defeat via submission, all hell broke loose when Stevenson displayed his impactful athletic display. Aside from being an Olympic-level athlete, Stevenson is also the protégé of Brock Lesnar, Shelton Benjamin, and Kurt Angle.

Last year in December, Stevenson accompanied Angle on his birthday on Raw and helped douse the Alpha Academy with Kurt Angle’s iconic milk truck. After tonight’s match concluded, Stevenson took center stage and dominated a host of NXT wrestlers by delivering powerful suplexes.

His dominance bore a striking similarity to Brock Lesnar’s. One can even say that Stevenson took NXT stars to Suplex City. After all, he learned the ropes from The Beast Incarnate himself. That said, it remains to be seen when Stevenson makes his official in-ring debut.

Furthermore, fans are convinced that Gable Stevenson is the next Brock Lesnar or Kurt Angle of the WWE.

WWE Universe reacts to Stevenson making a statement on NXT Underground

Throughout Brock Lesnar’s stint in the WWE, there hasn’t been anyone who even came close to emulating the same level of dominance as the former WWE Champion. Although Kurt Angle has a few wins over Brock Lesnar in his career, the latter is still the undisputed Beast in the WWE.

Gable Stevenson’s impressive Olympic resume, along with his natural talent, is sure to make him WWE’s next wrestling machine. In addition, it appears that the company is now looking to develop a potential successor to Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle.

Stevenson was signed to WWE in September 2021. The 23-year-old superstar was then chosen for Raw, but he was forced to withdraw so that he could receive treatment for Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
