A legend in the ring, Hulk Hogan has had many ups and downs in his career before and after retiring. Most notably, the star had recently faced the music for using racial slurs during a video, which resurfaced in 2015. However, while The Hulkster has had his fair share of controversy, he also has a reputation for altering facts. Something that his colleagues have been quick to call him out on.

In a recent interview, yet another person called into question the validity of Hogan’s claims after an interview with the retired wrestler aired. An ex-WWE manager who worked with Hogan in his heyday called ‘bulls**t’ on some of Hogan’s statements.

Despite being well past his prime, Hogan remains one of the happiest guys in the world right now. While continuing to be one of the most recognizable faces in wrestling and no longer embroiled in controversy, the wrestling legend also recently got engaged to the love of his life Sky Daily.

But while Hogan is one superstar who loves fame, he also seems to love controversy. The recent one he’s gotten himself into is because of a recent interview. During an interview with the magazine Muscle and Health, he narrated a few experiences from his life, but wrestling pundits have been quick to point out where Hogan took liberties with the details.

Similarly, ex-WWE manager, Dutch Mantell, was also quick to call out Hogan’s bluff. On his podcast Story Time with Dutch Mantell, his co-host, James Romero, narrated a few claims from Hogan’s interview. Mantell didn’t seem impressed by Hogan’s dubious claims, as he has worked with him in the past and knows of the wrestler’s habit of altering facts.

“In the wrestling business, you get used to that, you have to naturally assume anything anybody tells you. Well, not anybody, but guys like Hulk, and I like Hulk, but whatever he tells you, that is kinda bulls**t to begin with. So never get out and quote Hulk says because chances are that most of it is just made up,” Mantell said.

Analysing the interview, Romero said that there were 17 ‘dubious tells or outright lies’ in the Hogan interview. Looking at just one of them, Hogan claimed that he brought the creator of the boy band One Direction to the States.

Simon Cowell is well known all over the world for talent shows like American Idol, The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and so on. He is also the co-creator of the world-famous boy band One Direction, which has produced A-list singers like Harry Styles. Simon was also the co-creator of the reality show Pop Idol, the precursor to American Idol. Thus, Simon was already doing really well for himself in the music business, not just in the UK, but also in the States.

But in his interview, Hogan says he worked with Simon Cowell to produce an album, but there is no evidence of that happening. Simon worked with the WWE in 1993, but Hogan was not with the brand at the time. He also claims that he called Simon to the US to produce more wrestling albums, following which Cowell continued working in the US. A claim which has also been proven to be untrue.
