LA Knight and John Cena had a blast of a partnership together several weeks ago. The biggest babyface of the company and the rising big babyface of the company launched themselves at The Bloodline and earned a big win at Fastlane. While both wrestlers had great sync in the ring, it turns out that they were great buddies off-camera as well.

LA Knight recently appeared in a podcast episode and talked about his experience working with John Cena. Interestingly, he also revealed a surprising request Cena made to him during the Fastlane Premium Live Event.

The request that brightened LA Knight and his girlfriend

Chris Van Vliet recently invited LA Knight on his podcast for his latest episode. Vliet asked the WWE superstar about his time with John Cena and what the main facets of working with him were. While Knight had a positive view to share about the 16-time WWE Champ, he also had a fun story up his sleeve.

LA Knight said, “Uh, my girlfriend was backstage at, uh, Fastlane, and he was like, it wasn’t like she wanted to meet him—’Hey, can I meet?’ He was like, ‘Can I meet her?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, absolutely.’” A personal request for an acquaintance from John Cena warmed the hearts of Knight and his partner, Michelle Yavulla.

LA Knight further added, “And she was thrilled that he, like, wanted to meet because he saw her pass by when she was going to the bathroom or whatever.” While John Cena is already known for being a gentleman, this shows that he doesn’t ignore a coworker’s family if they happen to be around.

While Cena made sure to seek Knight’s permission, even Knight had all the reasons to allow him to meet Yavulla as well. The WWE Universe is aware of the secretive nature of LA Knight when it comes to personal life matters. However, the leader of Cenation won Knight’s trust with his easygoing and friendly approach.

What makes John Cena a great person to work with?

Sean Ricker is a 40-year-old man with a lot of pro wrestling experience under his belt. However, he still found John Cena to be one of the easiest people to gel with. Knight said in the same interview, “Um, man, you know what? That is one of the easiest guys to work with.” Knight also added further details and shed more light on how Cena rolls.

Ricker said, “Everything’s simple, everything is, uh, there’s not any overcomplicated, uh, thought process. It’s just kind of like, ‘Hey, look, we’re going to go out there, we’re gonna, uh, we’re going to do our thing. It’s going to be this, this, this—cool, yeah, great, wonderful.” While LA Knight had a great time with Cena, he will now look forward to his second title shot against Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble.
