The migration of WWE Superstars to AEW has become very commonplace. While this is true for active pro wrestlers, several superstars who go on a hiatus are seen in the AEW arena months later. Interestingly, former UFC and WWE Champ Ronda Rousey might take the same route soon.
Ronda Rousey fought her last WWE match at SummerSlam in August 2023. Her exit from WWE wasn’t a smooth one, and several hints suggested that after MMA, she has retired from pro wrestling as well. But, she was recently spotted at an event, hinting that she may resurface in the ring of Tony Khan’s AEW.

Ronda Rousey had everyone excited when she first arrived in WWE. She already had a massive fan following from her stint at UFC. While it was expected that she would rise to the level of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, the UFC Hall of Famer unfortunately had to walk away from WWE.
Recently, however, Ronda Rousey made an appearance in Ring of Honor’s TV tapings. More precisely, Rousey featured on the AEW Full Gear weekend. This was enough to send the pro wrestling world buzzing with speculation of her imminent partnership with Tony Khan.

However, according to Wrestling Observer News, there are no official plans in motion between Ronda Rousey and AEW. Even PWInsider reported that although the opportunity is open to her, there is still no deal at the moment. It’s worth noting that Rousey has succumbed to medical issues like concussions. A few days ago, for ‘Cage Side Seats‘ she revealed that she got several concussions and due to this her fight with Holm was also affected.
Later on at the AEW Full Gear press conference, Tony Khan said that he would love to work with Rousey. Tony Khan also said that his doors are open if she wanted to appear for more shows.
As for Ronda Rousey, she said that she only appeared in the ROH/AEW Full Gear show because the show was close to her home. Moreover, she also wanted to work and have some fun along with Marina Shafir. But, if Rousey isn’t going to partner with AEW, what is she doing right now?

The hiatus of the former WWE and UFC Champ
Ronda Rousey is currently spending time with her family. She is raising her daughter along with her husband and MMA Fighter Travis Browne. So far, her return to either the squared circle of WWE or AEW, or the octagon of UFC is unlikely. But, her surprising feature in the ROH/AEW show was a breath of fresh air.
