In an appearance on Busted Open’s episode in December 2022, Dustin Rhodes shared that his AEW contract is set to expire in July 2023. In the same podcast episode, he also revealed that he will dial down his in-ring appearances moving following the expiration. However, new reports from ‘Fightful Select‘, suggest that Dustin won’t be leaving the promotion before September 2024. The premiere of ‘American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes’ was a big day for the Royal Rumble Champion of 2023. He was present on the red carpet for the documentary launch along with the rest of his supporters, including his wife. When Chris Van Vliet was able to catch hold of her, he asked her about her potential return to in-ring action, similar to her role in AEW.

The answer from her end appeared ‘negative’ when she denied her future appearances as a wrestler. “It just was too hard, well not too hard, but just something that I just didn’t think would be the best for the family,” commented Brandi.

The Beast Incarnate and his present rival have faced each other a total of two times in the ring. The official score between the wrestlers is 1-1. Lesnar accepted Rhodes’ request for another rematch, which will take place at SummerSlam.

Despite things appearing rough on the personal side of things, The American Nightmare is not letting anything affect his energy. At the documentary premiere’s red carpet, fans saw Rhodes carrying his ‘broken arm’ kayfabe in public. Not only did fans love to see a wrestler taking his professional storyline seriously, but it also indicates his dedication to the craft.

As reported earlier, Rhodes will face Lesnar at SummerSlam on August 6th. Now, all we have to do is wait and watch which one of the two gets to leave the night on a winning note. A win here might allow Rhodes to refocus on his story of winning the coveted WWE Championship.
