WWE superstar Cody Rhodes was invited to the Dale Jr. podcast where he talked about his late father and his current run in the WWE. During one segment, he mentioned an ongoing feud between upcoming talents that has grabbed the eyeballs of WWE fans.

The last episode of RAW featured a moment when Gunther made a young fan in the front row cry. Cody Rhodes revealed how the locker room reacted after Gunther made the little girl cry.

Gunther is one of the best performers on the RAW roster. He was yet to be beaten during his run on the main roster for over a year before Gable left him dry via count-out. Cody Rhodes was quick to refer to the feud during one of his recent interviews.

WrestleOps posted on X on September 8th a portion of the interview. The caption stated, “Cody Rhodes revealed Chad Gable and Gunther received a standing ovation backstage after their incredible main event on #WWERAW this week 👏👏👏
Cody Rhodes: If you get a standing ovation in Gorilla, you’ve made it. Chad Gable and Gunther had this amazing main event and they came back and there’s nothing we can do but clap for that piece of business.”

Rhodes was referring to the ongoing feud between Gunther and Chad Gable at the main event of RAW after Gable handed Gunther his first defeat in the main roster the previous week. Both being incredible athletes, delivered a match that felt like a Main Event. As a result, they received a backstage standing ovation from other wrestlers and production Staff.

Cody Rhodes was full of appreciation for the match and the two performers. Rhodes, who is dedicated to the wrestling business, considers such performances to be good for business.

The ongoing feud between the leader of the Imperium stable, Gunther, and the leader of the Alpha Academy, Chad Gable depicts a David vs. Goliath battle. It piqued the interest of the fans after Gable sustained a 5-minute challenge from Gunther.

The following week, Gable scored a count-out win over The Ring General. But as a result, Gunther was relentless in their next match which was for the title. However, Gunther thrashed Gable in their next match for the Inter-Continental title on 4th September. Gable’s little daughter, Meadow Ann Betts was seen crying after the match resulted in her father’s defeat.
